I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

So in El Cajon, I've resigned myself to not having a White Christmas. However, this year (technically) we did have a white Christmas. So it may not have snowed, but it did rain. We were sitting there eating dinner up at Grandma's and I looked out the window and what did I see? WHITE, the rain was a mist that was white in the air. So a White Christmas in my book at least. I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas and that it was a beautiful day (rain, snow, or sunshine).

Twilight is coming out in 11 days!!!

So, I went to my friends birthday party this last Saturday and it was Twilight themed. We had a fun time hanging out and all the girls were jealous that I had made Jolene a Twilight birthday card (apparently I have some of Jocelyn's creativity) and they all made me promise to make them each their own twilight birthday card for their birthdays (how can you resist when a room full of teenage girls mob you to make you promise something?). Making the card I searched the Internet for pictures and I thought that I would have to search for movie and book pictures, however the first eight pages had only one picture of a sunset. Of course the most awesome gift that Jolene got was one of the original movie posters (as in with the original release date). It seems to me that Harry Potter is afraid of Twilight because they postponed their release date.
I am looking forward to the movie coming out and am planning on seeing it with some of my friends on Friday.

For anyone who might be wondering, I did go on the date with Adam (and yes it was a month ago today) and had a great time. We got Chinese food and went over to the Granite football game(we lost) and hung out with my friends (after I performed with Choir). After the game we went back to my house and played phase ten with my parents.

I hope everyone can forgive me for not letting you know what has been going on in my life lately and I hope that everyone is well

Homecoming Queen?

Well the exciting news is that my dress came today and it fits this time!!! However, I did not make it onto court, so I will have to wear my dress at a different dance.

I am really enjoying most of my classes this year, math is challenging, but I really like it. I was talking to one of my friends saying that I didn't like one of my classes and she asked why I didn't like it, I had an "A." That was the problem, I barley had to put any effort into the class and got an A out of it.

Yesterday I was frustrated that I couldn't learn from my mistakes in Government because the teacher's attitude doesn't invite students to ask him questions, or to even give us a chance at looking over what we did wrong on the tests. So before class today, I asked him if I could find out what I got wrong on the test so that I can understand it better in the future, and to my surprise he said that I can come in tomorrow at lunch to look over what I got wrong, however I still don't know how I will know which questions I got wrong, but oh well at least I can try.

But I don't want it to be the Fool!!!

Jack and I had a conversation before the wedding about the Live Ship Traders about who Amber might be and really, he knew and I didn't want him to tell me, and I was fighting what he made me think. Well, I just finished the book Mad Ship and I don't want Amber to be the Fool from the Farseer trilogy, but I am afraid that I have to give it up and allow it to happen because no other character is more driven by fate.

So now that I'm done whining, I get to tell you all why I am soooooooo happy! I asked one of my friends if he would go to homecoming with me and he said yes!!! The reason that I asked him is because I am running for Homecoming Queen and need a date. I won't know whether or not I will even be on Court until sometime after the third of October which is the week before Homecoming. So I am not sure if Court is wearing formal clothes and everyone else whatever they went to the game in or what the deal is. So I ordered a dress online that is really pretty.
Mom said that many people are asking what made me want to run for homecoming queen. One day, I was thinking, what would make my senior memorable to me? The answer came to me almost immediately... Get on Court. So I am participating in a very prominent popularity contest (and I don't expect to win).
Last month was Tamara and Jack's wedding and it was absolutely beautiful, and I am so happy to be able to claim Jack as my brother-in-law. Hey Jack, I'm assuming that you gave Tamara your wedding present to her, I love the story behind it. Last month we also moved back into our house.Yesterday we spent most of the day either in the garage or running in and out of the garage with more stuff, emptying out box after box. Brent and Dad went over to drop off a van full to DI. We can now walk, easily, from the front of the garage to the back.
I hope that everyone has a great week. I love all the people that I am aware are reading this and probably some of thoes that I don't know are reading this. Talk to you all later,
Chelsea

I've been bitten by Breaking Dawn

So I went to the book party Friday night for the opening of Breaking Dawn with Shelby and one of her friends from the barn. Barnes and Noble had several fun things to do while waiting for midnight to come. There was Twilight pictionary, trivia, a scavenger hunt (looking for items throughout the store from the covers of the books), book discussions, and face painting. I've only read the first chapter of Breaking Dawn and it is amazing.

I spent the night at Shelby's and we went over to the barn in the morning and I was able to see Shelby's horse and her foal before the foal left (she is already sold) and helped muck out the stalls. We had a great time hanging out with eachother and are looking forward to discussing the book when we are both done.

My first IV

So I have been thinking about posting for awhile but wasn't sure if I should post a picture because I think that it looks gross but Jocelyn asked me to so I will. You might be able to see Mom's initials on my wrist (at the top left corner under the clear bandaging) indicating that they were operating on the proper wrist.

I lay on my back with my right arm straight out with the IV (my first) and my left arm straight out for surgery feeling like I was on a cross. The last thing that I remember before the General anesthesia knocked me out was the ceiling going fuzzy and thinking that I didn't like it.

My first memory afterward was when I was still groggy. I thought I was in my bed at home and that I had had a very strange dream about something called a ganglion cyst and that I had to have surgery. Then I started to actually wake up and finally heard the heart monitor beeping out my heart beat, I realized that it was not a dream and that I could feel the IV in my arm and the cold ice on my wrist. I opened my eyes and could not focus, but I could see that someone was by me, checking my charts or something, I closed one eye and was able to focus on her. She had me talk to her a bit and tell her if my wrist hurt or not and how much on a scale of 1-10. My wrist was more of an irritation than painful and I really wanted to close again and go back to sleep.

I had told one of the nurses in Pre-op that I was a swimmer and somehow everyone knew that I swim. The nurse in post-op took her 15 min break after I woke up and told the nurse who was going to watch me for her that I was a swimmer and that was why my heart rate was slow.
Well I had my first IV removed and they moved me to a chair and gave me a toasty warm blanket because I couldn't stop shivering and then they brought mom in and talked to her about how to care for me and whatnot. I don't know exactly what was said or anything because I was still groggy, but I do remember that I was suposed to work my way slowly from clear fluids to solids.
After I got dressed Mom went and got the car and the nurse wheeled me out to the front to wait for her. I got into the car and mom asks me if I want a Jamba Juice, so we go over and get some and we each get a pretzel with cheese that was delishous. We ate a bit in the car before Mom realized that I was suposed to be on clear liquids still, so ohwell what's done is done and I didn't have a problem with it.

Surgery

So for those of you who didn't know, I have a ganglion cyst on my left wrist. So earlier this summer I went into the doctor's office and he said that I have three options, 1) leave it there, it won't do any damage 2) something to do with a needle and getting the fluid out with the likely hood that it will come back later and 3) having surgery and have it more likely it won't return. So I chose option #3. On Monday Mom told me that the papers or whatever were in so that we could schedule the surgery. So Mom decided that Friday would be a good time to have the surgery and scheduled the pre-op for Wednesday. So, I was thinking I wouldn't be able to have it out until after school started because of Tamara's wedding and then having my senior pictures, but instead it will be this Friday!
So I have until Friday to pack to leave the apartment because we will be moving back into the house while I can’t lift heavy things with my left wrist.

So I was looking around...

So, Mom wanted me to look a recipe up on a blog so that she could make it for dinner (she may want a late lunch, I'm not sure). I decided to look around and see what my siblings have posted on their blogs. Little did I know that almost all of them are subscribed to my blog, but I haven't posted anything yet. So, hello to everyone reading this and welcome to my Blog, I have finally posted something.

My name is Chelsea and I have three older sisters who I love very much and a brother who is closer to me than any one else in the world. My oldest sister is getting married soon and I am looking forward to the wedding and having Jack be part of our family (he is a really great guy and I tell all of my friends that my sister couldn't have a better match if she was the main character in a book).

I was able to go to Spain and Portugal this last February with my school's choir and Canada with my parents in March. I think that I should go to Mexico to round off my trips to foreign Countries for the year. I went Skiing with some girls from church in Big Bear in March, which was a lot of fun!!! I visited two of my sisters after school got out for the summer and had a blast with both of them. When I got home from my sisters' I turned around and drove up to Zion National Park with another group of friends from church and hiked the Narrows (bottom up for those who want to know which of the two hikes we took) for the first time. We also went trail riding near Bryce Canyon we rode the horses along the edge of the Canyon. That was an amazing two days with beautiful sights.
Well, I may blog more about some of this later, but for now I'm done. Have a great day! thank you for reading my blog
